Mason County Central Middle School Academy

    
     Spartacus Academy is the vision of a group of concern staff members who believe's that Mason County Middle School needs to reinvent itself in order to prepare our students for the 21st century, improve upon creating a meaningful learning environment and to maintain the curriculum standards set forth my the state of Michigan.  The Spartacus Academy over arching theme would be a standard of building leaders.  The focus of the school would be one of  process of developing an integrative, Project-Based Learning experience, thematic and hands-on curriculum in a wide variety of areas that targeting meaningful experiences for all of our students at MCC Middle School. 
     The mission of Spartacus Academy will be to focus on the essential 'Building Blocks' of a middle school child.  The 'blocks' will include the physical, social, emotional, moral and intellectual needs of our students.  As our students are embarking into the 21st century, the learning landscape is ever changing and Spartacus Academy will equip them with the necessary tools to be successful.  We will also focus on the change in pedagogy, not just teaching in isolation the technology, arts, life skills, and physical/emotional health. This learning environment will be about the dramatically changing relationship between a teacher and students in the learning process and to use technology, arts, life skills and physical/emotional health for a student-focused, customized collaborative learning environment.
